HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?

Microsoft training

Is your organisation guilty of expecting staff to amend an Excel spreadsheet or update a PowerPoint presentation with little training, or by learning from a frazzled colleague?  Do costly mistakes get made due to staff simply not having the knowledge or confidence to work with Microsoft products?

'How do I know what training my staff need?'  If you don't know then we can find out for you using a training needs analysis form.  You can download these from the relevant sections below, or ask us for a form at contact@paramount-training.com.  No obligation of course!

One of the things our clients say they love about working with us, is that we work hard to ensure the content of a training session is dynamic on the day.  So if it turns out that delegates are missing some vital skills or knowledge, we can plug the gaps there and then.  No hassle.

MICROSOFT EXCEL - what does this cover? Although there are three ‘off the shelf’ levels ie introduction, intermediate and advanced, at no extra cost we can offer a tailored approach where you decide the topics.  The beauty of having only YOUR staff on a course is that we can be completely flexible, rather than covering aspects that are simply not needed or useful to your staff or business.

If you would like us to recommend the most appropriate level then please complete and return this training needs analysis form (PDF) or training needs analysis form (editable version)

MICROSOFT WORD what does this cover?   Although there are three ‘off the shelf’ levels ie introduction, intermediate and advanced, at no extra cost we can offer a tailored approach where you decide the topics.  The beauty of having only YOUR staff on a course is that we can be completely flexible, rather than covering aspects that are simply not needed or useful to your staff or business.

MICROSOFT POWERPOINT - what does this cover? The introduction level is best suited to staff who have little experience of PowerPoint, whereas the advanced level highlights lots of the clever features available. We teach how to create amazing presentations from the simple weekly sales report to the high level pitch.  Staff may need to use a company approved template in order to project a corporate image – we can show how to work with this effectively.  We can even help with overcoming nerves and critiquing existing presentations - in a constructive way of course!

What else can we help with?

MICROSOFT PROJECT - If your organisation runs any kind of project work then Microsoft Project is a much better way of managing it (versus Excel).  We often find this software is self-taught, leading to all kinds of issues.  We will teach your staff how to keep on top of their projects whether big or small, manage their time, costs and resources with ease and efficiency.

EMAIL (MICROSOFT OUTLOOK) - what does this cover? Most people can send and reply to emails without breaking a sweat, but may not use rules, add template text, electronically invite  colleagues to meetings and track attendance or access colleagues’ Outlook accounts.  We don’t believe in teaching granny to suck eggs, so can dive straight in to the interesting stuff that means your staff will be more productive even quicker.  The largest number of emails we’ve ever seen in an inbox was 8912!  We will cover lots of tricks to avoid this becoming commonplace in your organisation.  If you would like us to recommend the most appropriate level then please complete and return this training needs analysis form (PDF) or training needs analysis form (editable)

BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS

Whether you have staff who are new to using a computer, lack confidence or simply want to improve – the training will be completely at their pace, in a friendly and supportive environment. From knowing how to turn on and turn off safely, how to save work and be able to find it again easily, to knowing how to navigate through the basic programs installed and getting the most out of the computer. We understand that everyone is different and we can offer a solution for your staff.

OTHER SOFTWARE

If you are looking for training on other Microsoft products, Adobe software, CRM, accounting software such as Sage, or something more technical such as Visual Basic or Access then please get in touch.  We offer training on lots more beside Microsoft!

IN-HOUSE BESPOKE SOFTWARE

If you, your business or industry use a specialist piece of software to track orders, stock or records or one that looks after your customer database, does your accounting or manages any other aspect of your business then you may have to spend a fortune training current staff or new starters, sending them on offsite courses. An alternative is that you get one of your staff to show a new starter the ropes, which can be stressful for both parties! This may also lead to inconsistencies in what new staff actually learn.

With our training experience we already understand a lot of industry products and train for the NHS, local Councils and numerous other industries. If we do not already train on the software you use, one of Paramount’s highly qualified trainers would learn your software and then teach what we have learned to your staff taking the stress out of training.  This has the added benefit of being able to train any size of group in a consistent way.

Andy Robinson (Customer Service Manager: Coveris, Spalding)

I have recently completed a one to one Powerpoint training course with Joanne and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone seeking to improve their Powerpoint knowledge and skills. ‘In advance of the training session, Joanne consulted me to identify the areas I needed help on.  These were all covered off thoroughly, along with several other areas not on my original wishlist that we picked up during the training. ‘Thanks to Joanne’s down to earth and patient approach, we covered a lot of ground in the two hour session and I now feel a lot more confident in my Powerpoint abilities.  Post-training I was supplied with a  training manual for future reference as well as a contact number to use if I get any queries I need help with.
